The holiday season has arrived! You know what that means: Christmas songs are back in the rotation. Some people love them; some people hate them. I’m here to rank my top 10 Christmas songs of all time.
Starting the list, Feliz Navidad is just an all-around good song. Great acoustic guitar and very easy to sing along with. Generally, Christmas songs and fast tempos are a recipe for disaster; but Feliciano took a chance and created a holiday classic.
Ariana does not miss! Santa Tell Me is a good mixture of new Christmas music and retro holiday sound. Even though Grande is not usually seen on many holiday songs, this is no exception to her incredible discography.
Bublé’s voice and this old-time Christmas song is a combination made by god. His cover of this famous holiday tune is one of this singer’s most popular songs.
I had to include an old classic on this list. Crosby’s White Christmas is one of the most recognizable tunes in holiday music. Bing wrote this song for the movie White Christmas, which he starred in.
Bublé finds his way on the list for a second time with another famous cover. Released in 2011, along with the rest of his album titled Christmas, Michael caught international attention and topped the Billboard Hot 200 Chart with the help of this catchy tune.
As much as I despise Yoko Ono, this song is a major exception. The Beatle and his wife collaborated to make a song protesting the Vietnam War. John’s voice over a choir of children sounds nothing like a normal holiday song, but it’s one of my favorites.
The crooner grabs a top spot with his rendition of a Christmas classic. Many people have attempted to cover this tune and missed. Sinatra’s voice is ageless, especially in this song.
This one might hurt some feelings. As much as I wanted to put this song higher on my list, this song is overplayed and overrated. Carey’s vocals and the jingling sleigh bells really make some people rave over this tune; however, I’m not a fan. Mariah Carey does a superb job making an original holiday song but it does not deserve my top spot.
I’m giving the penultimate spot to another unorthodox Xmas tune. As the second Beatle to make the list, McCartney really puts his exemplary song writing abilities on display with this holiday gem. From the old synths to his classic voice, this song is one of my favorites to hear during the holiday season.
Finally! At the top of my list is George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s holiday masterpiece. Wham! finds a way to turn an unrequited love story into a Christmas song with this classic tune. The vocals are amazing and the synths are astounding. The famous 80’s group takes the cake on greatest Christmas song of all time!
