The key to success of the Dallas Cowboys offense in 2016 will rest on the shoulders of Tony Romo and Ezekiel Elliott. After organized team activities and minicamp it became clear that fans should be optimistic about those two players in particular.
Tony Romo did not miss a practice and threw the ball as well as he ever has. His strong spring should only continue into training camp and into the season. Even though his collar bone surgery took place in March, Romo was able to get on the field in a short amount of time.
As for Elliott the wow factor continued into the week of minicamp. ESPN’s Todd Archer got a first hand look at the 4th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
“His work last week in minicamp brought out a “wow” moment. (Via ESPN’s Todd Archer) Taking a simple checkdown from Tony Romo, he turned upfield and outraced the entire defense, first running away from Kyle Wilber and then Brandon Carr. It was so impressive that the offensive players started hooting and hollering. The big plays will return to the offense”.
Elliott of course was my top runningback in 2016 NFL Draft process. Elliott is in for a really productive season and should warrant a top 5 fantasy selection when you drafts start rolling around.
