NFL Draft Stock Report: East-West (1), (3), (4), Game

Hemingway, 23, checks in at 6-foot-3, 284, with 33 inch arms. Coming out of high school he was a three star prospect. The Conway, South Carolina, native was ranked as the 48th overall defensive tackle and 10th player in the state. Hemingway also comes from a basketball background and also spent all five years with the Gamecocks.

Hemingway wasn’t in the stock notes, but he was noticeable this past year. His 2024 season includes four sacks and a forced fumble. He mostly just fell under the radar because Sanders is the superior prospect. Well, more so the more complete prospect given the skillset that Hemingway has.

The best way I would describe him is as an undersized spaz. The Combine notes help illustrate some of what I’m talking about here. It’s borderline wack job stuff, but his strong East-West showing eases a lot of those concerns. He’s definitely a tweener and may be best served as an edge on early downs. He just might be a weapon on third downs on the interior. If a smart DC uses him like that, there’s a real player here.

Didn’t run at the Combine. Not overly fast or strong, but there’s something about this dude’s motor. Can be a bit high sometimes but, better in the short area footwork department.

I’m a fan of this player. I have a 4th-5th round grade on Tonka Hemingway. He’s definitely going to have a role at the next level, and you can’t have enough big boys along the defensive front to close a game.
