Can Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot Be Consistent For The Nets?
With Kyrie Irving choosing when to play and when not to play, it has increased Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot’s playing time. (I’m not sure if Kyrie Irving understands how his job works, or any job for that matter). Either way, with Kyrie’s inconsistent schedule, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot needs to be ready for his number to be called at any time. The issue for TLC is can he be consistent or not?
TLC was pretty irrelevant and unheard of until the Orlando Bubble. He had the opportunity to be known nationally due to the lack of players for the Nets and TV time. Last year in the Orlando Bubble, TLC had plenty of games where he was relevant, including 6 total games where he scored 17 points or more. That includes 3 games with 24 points or more. Fast-forward to this season. While his averages are already up from last year, my biggest thing is inconsistency. I mean I get it, he’s playing with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving (sometimes), and now James Harden, that’s a lot of talent. But it seems to be hit or miss if TLC scores more than 10 points. Half of his games he does, the other he doesn’t.
TLC needs to focus on consistency, he won’t be the reason the Nets make the Finals or win the whole thing, but he will need to be someone the Nets can rely on for a solid 10 points. He’s still a young player and learning some consistency while trying to expand his game himself will be great for him. If he can manage it, he’ll be a key reason why the bench for the Nets can win games. Especially since the Nets lost key pieces in the James Harden trade.
