It’s Time To Microchip The Football

I’m fully aware that the 2024-25 NFL Season is over and the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions. However, there is still one big moment from the AFC Title game that really needs to be talked about. It’s time to microchip the football.

This ^ can’t happen. It should never happen. One ref determined the outcome of this game. This was a first down but somehow it wasn’t enough to overturn the call on the field.

I have no idea whatever happened to this Sony’s Hawk-Eye technology that was supposed to be put in place but clearly it didn’t happen.

Enough is enough. Put a damn microchip in the ball and stop letting refs make these idiotic spot calls over and over again. How much longer do we need to wait for this to happen?

RIP The Chain Gang

To close things out, I just want to talk about one more thing. I saw some people saying something along the lines of “Oh, that ref narrative died pretty quick”.

False.

The Eagles were just so damn dominant that the refs were never going to decide the game. The only difference is the Chiefs game against the Bills was truly decided by five plays. That’s not the case in the Eagles game. The Chiefs still got insane calls in their favor in the Super Bowl including the first drive to AJ Brown, which was a joke of a call. The Refs were bailing the Chiefs out all postseason long and it’s not disputable.

All I know is making this change prevents them from determining the outcome of games in the future, which is all we can really ask for here.
