Tilman Fertitta: Rockets Don’t Fear Lakers, Clippers Like The Warriors

Can the Houston Rockets actually win the 2019-2020 NBA title? If you ask Tilman Fertitta (the Rockets owner), then hell yeah Houston can win it. Fertitta believes the door is wide open for the Rockets to make The Finals. He even came right out and admitted that Houston feared Golden State in the past. Not so much with any team in the present. The Rockets owner had some interesting comments.

VIA Kirk Bohls of Statesman:

“I think Milwaukee is head over heels above everybody else,” said Fertitta

“We just need to get home court for the first and second rounds and see what happens.”

“None of us fear L.A. or the Clippers or Denver like we feared Golden State,” he said. “It’s not like how we were scared of them. We could easily win the West this year or get knocked out in the first round. Both L.A. teams, Denver, Houston, we’re all excellent teams. Just comes down to somebody gets hot and makes a shot. Our chances are as good as they’ve ever been.”

Houston is VERY confident. Daryl Morey said before the season that he considers the Rockets the favorites to win the West. Personally, I don’t give them much of a shot. BUT they have a way better shot since they have gone with the small ball lineup. The Rockets are significantly better without Clint Capela. Good enough to win a title? NOPE. Good enough to be interesting? Maybe.

Everybody is on the hot seat in Houston and Tilman Fertitta is impatient. Houston has traded every draft pick known to mankind to try to win this year. Daryl Morey is on the hot seat. Mike D’Antoni is in the same boat. I’m here for it if this whole thing blows up.
