Three key changes AEW can make with the new-look Dynamite

AEW recently announced that they would be undergoing a new look. Since the company started, AEW has been presented the same, but it’s time for a change, according to AEW President Tony Khan.

AEW’s current look was a fun, sort of paint-splattered design. Although, with the new teaser fans have received, AEW is evidently moving to a more mature and greater presentation for the show. It appears Dynamite’s new primary colors are shifting to blue and red.

Part of the reason for the show debuting a new look is that this will be their one-year anniversary on TBS. Originally, Dynamite was on TNT, but Rampage got moved to TNT and now Dynamite is on TBS. While AEW’s events are a lot of fun, the production value can be better.

Ultimately, AEW needed a refresh in my opinion, so let’s go over three key changes they can make to their show.

1. Single Tunnel Entrance

AEW was synonymous with having two separate entrance tunnels, one for the heels and the other for the baby faces. At first, it was nice because it was different, but it quickly became a forgotten trait. No one really cared about which tunnel the wrestlers came out of, so the idea became useless.

Just about every major wrestling promotion has one tunnel for their wrestlers to enter from, so it would make a lot of sense for AEW to convert to it. Now, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a tunnel, but just one curtain entrance for every wrestler. Having it in one spot allows fans to easily know where their favorite wrestler is going to come from. The two-tunnel idea simply just seems arbitrary now.

2. No More Guard Rails

Similar to many popular wrestling promotions, AEW uses guard rails to keep fans out of the wrestling area. There is nothing wrong with using guard rails, but if AEW wants to up their production, they need to convert to barricades.

If they ever want to get on WWE’s level in terms of production value, they need to upgrade some small things. Getting barricades would achieve this by improving the quality of the show. Guard rails just seem like a very independent wrestling company thing, while getting barricades is something that only the best of the best do.

If AEW wants to become the biggest wrestling company in the world, they need to present its show in such a manner. Getting rid of the guard rails and adding barricades would accomplish that mission.

3. Upgrade the Announcer’s Desk

Similar to the guard rails, many wrestling companies simply use a wooden table for their commentators. The announcer’s table is the same one that the wrestlers use to put each other through.

WWE is one of the few companies that give their commentators a good setup. They have a nice big desk that is different than the wooden tables the wrestlers use, plus they have more room since it is by the ring. Conversely, AEW’s announcer’s desk is a wooden table with a tablecloth draped around it located off to the side of where the wrestlers enter.

AEW has some of the best commentators in the game, yet they always look so crammed into their little spot. It’s about time that they give the announcers a better desk and more room.
