Theo Wease Jr 2025 NFL Draft Profile

We already covered Luther Burden (profile), but what about the other Missouri receiver? Is it possible for Theo Wease to make an impact at the next level? Let’s have a quick chat and run through his 2025 NFL Draft profile!

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 12Music City Bowl

Wease, 23, was a four star recruit coming out of high school. The Allen, Texas, native was ranked as the 37th overall player, fourth ranked receiver, and 8th best player in the state. He spent three years at Oklahoma before finishing up with Mizzou.

Make of this what you will, but just play calling wise, Missouri had no interest crafting up touches for Wease. Luther Burden was their entire offense. Brady Cook (profile) took a dump this past year after an okay 2023 season, but even removing that factor… everything was schemed up around Burden. Playcalling wise, they didn’t care about involving Wease into the offense. I personally care about these sort of things. The coach will tell you things if you’re smart enough to pay attention. Wease is probably just a guy. A replaceable one.

Checking in at 6-foot-3, 200, the timeline here is a bit messy. After not playing much as a freshman, Wease finally showed some promise posting 37 receptions for 530 yards and four scores. The problem is it never got better from there. In 2021, he redshirted after a foot injury. The next year he comes back and notches just 19 receptions mostly falling out of the rotation.

With Mizzou, Wease posted 109 receptions for 1,566 yards and ten touchdowns total over the last two years. He did outproduced Burden this past year and was a team captain. He can do some things in the contested catch game and wasn’t a total zero against SEC competition.

When it comes to Wease, I just can’t over the fact that he’s not a good athlete. I frankly don’t understand how you pass on doing the drills at the Combine after running a 4.56 with bad jumping numbers. He’s not fast. There’s no short area quickness. It’s all one speed of mediocre nonsense.

I have an undrafted grade on Theo Wease, and he wouldn’t be a priority for me after the draft either. Maybe he can make a roster, but the overall ceiling is just not here.
