The Promised Neverland: Season 1 Anime Review

This is an anime that was recommended to me by a friend and I am glad I watched it. In fact, I watched all of season 1 in one day because of how good it was. I’m just glad I had 4 hours free to watch this in one sitting. The Promised Neverland was not an action worthy anime but it had me hooked from the very beginning. Actually, the worst part of this anime was the first 15 minutes or so. I’ve said this to all the people I recommended it to. You have to watch ALL of the first episode, you’ll know then if you want to watch more or not.

Our story brings us to an orphanage, but the children are all happy. They have wonderful meals, play for most of the day. Once per day, they take a test testing their intellect. This is most of the first 15 minutes of the first episode. Just showing them how they live. However, one day a kid named Connie gets adopted but forgets her stuffed animal. The main characters, Norman and Emma, hurry to bring Connie her stuffed animal before she leaves. When Norman and Emma reach her, they make a shocking discovery about their orphanage and realize that their happy life may not be all what it seems.

Rating: 9/10

As mentioned before, The Promised Neverland had me hooked. There are so many ups and downs from the first episode to the end. I recommend this anime to anyone willing to watch it and I haven’t had anyone been disappointed. The 2nd season is almost finished and I am just waiting for it to be dubbed so I can binge that season too. This is one of the best animes out right now. Please take 4 hours out of your day and watch it, you won’t be disappointed.
