With the current news that the Miami Dolphins have released Josh Rosen, the Pittsburgh Steelers should pick him up. In the NFL, it’s all about putting the best players at every position while staying under the salary cap. Rosen will not only make the Steelers better this year but for future years as well.
Yes, Josh Rosen has flamed out with two teams, but in all fairness to him, those teams did not set him up well at all. The Arizona Cardinals had and still have an atrocious offensive line. The Miami Dolphins’ roster in 2019 was drained and depleted of players for draft picks, hardly giving Rosen a chance to do anything.
Rosen immediately found himself in the fire with both the Cardinals and Dolphins and never received a grace period to grow and develop. He was shipped out of Arizona after a year, meaning he had to learn an entirely new offense, adjust to a new organization, and build chemistry with new teammates.
Despite the rocky past, the Pittsburgh Steelers should take a look at Rosen.
With the Pittsburgh Steelers, Josh Rosen would have time to learn and develop. Rosen would sit behind Ben Roethlisberger for at least one year, potentially two, while attempting to get comfortable in the offense and learn the ins and outs of the Steelers’ organization.
Josh Rosen would, at the very least, be the third-best quarterback on the Pittsburgh Steelers if he signed today. Trey Daubert has been sticking to his claim and analysis that Mason Rudolph can’t play. I’m confident that Rosen is better than Devlin Hodges as well, making Rosen an immediate improvement for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Long term and short term, Josh Rosen would be a great fit with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He can learn behind Ben Roethlisberger and provides an immediate upgrade to the quarterback room. It’s only a matter of time before we see where Josh Rosen will land.
