The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Should Be Ashamed Of Their Coverage Of Kirby Smart

Never apologize for being awesome. In the most predictable turn of events ever, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution decided that they would fall victim to something that’s plagued humans for years. Build people up so that you can tear them down. That’s precisely what the AJC is doing to Kirby Smart and it’s downright disgusting and repulsive behavior by a desperate newspaper.

Earlier this month the AJC published an article that suggested that Kirby Smart was somehow failing at his job. Don’t worry, this trash is behind a paywall so you don’t have to bother reading it. Just know it’s agenda-driven BS with no goal other than trying to tear down Smart and the awesome program he’s built.

This scumbag Alan Judd has taken things to gross levels. Peep his Twitter timeline. It’s a crusade of hate to do anything possible to rip at Kirby. Better yet, I’m just going to drop this Tweet in here. When the Twitter mob gets something, you know it’s bad. Just read the replies.

This is Kirby Smart we’re talking about. A guy that has won back-to-back National Titles. Keep in mind that Georgia hasn’t won a Title previously since Herschel Walker carried them in 1980. Before that, the Dawgs didn’t win one since the 40’s. Smart since taking over the reins is 81-15 including an 8-2 record during Bowl season.

Let’s just be real here. People are attacking Kirby’s culture because they have nothing else to attack. We’re talking about miserable people at the AJC typing away at a keyboard because they know deep down in their heart they will never be as successful as Kirby. That’s the cold hard truth.

Also, how do you even define culture? How do you know when you have a bad culture? Who is the AJC to suggest that the Georgia program is being run into the ground? Cause one guy likes to street race? Given the failures around the newspaper industry, why should we take their opinion seriously when they’re not capable of building a culture themselves?

We know why this keeps happening. It’s the same reason why the city of Boston is singled out constantly when fans do the wrong thing. It’s because their teams win. You don’t care as much if a Royals fan does something dumb. You wouldn’t care if a guy on Georgia Tech decided to street race now would you? Point being, there are college kids all over this country doing stupid things. You only care because this one comes from a culture of WINNING.

We want to question the culture at Georgia? This is something I covered in the stock report notes this season. This is a program that pumped its own air conditioning into a South Carolina visitor locker room. I just want you to think about that. That’s next level culture.

How about the recruiting stuff that’s going on. This is a program that just won back-to-back titles with a walk-on at quarterback and are constantly sending top tier talent to the NFL. Did anybody else see Nolan Smith’s recruiting pitch? That’s a program going above and beyond to take care of its players.

Never apologize for winning. Georgia has built an amazing culture and if you’re not willing to acknowledge that it’s out of pure ignorance. Those trash bags at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution represent the past. The newspaper industry is dying and we all know why. These people should be ashamed of themselves and there isn’t any other way to put it.
