The Steelers Should Trade Najee Harris

I really have no sympathy for the running backs crying about how much they’re being paid. However, one running back that’s crying bothers me more than any other. Najee Harris really needs to shut his mouth and the Steelers should be aggressively looking to trade the former Alabama product.

Listen, I get why guys like Austin Ekeler, Jonathan Taylor, Josh Jacobs, and Saquon Barkley are frustrated. At least they have a resume of success. WTF has Harris accomplished? How about we start there? Harris has a career YPC mark of 3.8. His backup Jaylen Warren sports a career YPC mark of 4.9 behind the same offensive line.

What has Najee accomplished outside of being a big volume ball carrier? Is his career any different than Leonard Fournette right now? Another guy that got drafted in the first round that really didn’t help his team and has clearly been overdrafted.

The point is, Najee has no room to run his mouth. Who does he actually think he is to say the Giants screwed Barkley? Ask yourself this question. What’s the upside in keeping Harris? You’re a year away from him complaining about his contract. I’m sure he already feels that way despite being painfully mediocre.

The Steelers don’t need another Le’Veon Bell and or Antonio Brown situation. Isn’t Mike Tomlin tired of dealing with that nonsense? Why not deal Harris before he becomes a problem because we know that day is coming based on his comments. Is there a way to flip Harris for a better disgruntled running back? Is there a way to flip Harris for a third round pick? Omar Khan needs to be picking up the phone.

Let’s just be honest about this situation. Najee Harris is not providing Pittsburgh an extra win. Get what you can for him now before it becomes a problem.
