Paul Bissonnette was on the Respect list for a reason. Mike Babcock has been fired by the Blue Jackets and I’m not sure it would have happened without the help of the Spittin’ Chiclets crew. There is only one real takeaway to the aftermath of this. The Spittin’ Chiclets guys are total heroes.
How can anyone watch this and not view Babcock as a total creeper? This is pervert behavior. I’m sorry but the people need to be throwing the Chiclets guys a parade. They got this guy out of the building when he should have never been hired in the first place.
What exactly was the alternative here? Do you prefer a world where Babcock remains in charge and continuing his mental warfare on players in his own locker room? Do you prefer a world where Babock gets away with reviewing players phones? WTF was he even looking for?
We know how hockey locker rooms are. Without Spittin’ Chiclets, there is a chance this story never gets out. There is a chance that the Blue Jackets players endure all of this nonsense from Babcock while the entire franchise suffers for it. If Babcock was air-playing players’ phones, we realistically probably only got to a tip of the iceberg. What other creepy stuff was Babcock doing? Apparently, he was doing this in Toronto too.
Shout out to Ryan Whitney and Biz. Those guys are heroes. Babock should have never gotten the job, to begin with. I can only imagine the damage that would have been done had Babcock actually coached this team. What a dysfunctional mess in Columbus. Anybody in the hockey world that’s not celebrating this is just jealous of the success of the Chiclets brand.
