Find you someone who loves you the way Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon loves Rod Brind’Amour. The Hurricanes are one of the best teams in hockey and Brind’Amour has a lot to do with it. Canes owner Tom Dundon made it clear how he feels about his head coach. If the Canes are losing, it’s not going to be because of Rod.
Frank Seravalli has a new podcast where Dundon made an appearance on. Check out what Dundon had to say about Brind’Amour:
“Rod is going to coach our team for 20 years if he’ll stay for 20 years. If we don’t win, it ain’t going to be because of him.”
This part is just my personal opinion, but the Canes would be insane to fire Brind’Amour. Really good PR by Dundon to come out and say this. Brind’Amour won a Stanley Cup as a player with Carolina. In four years as a head coach with the Canes he’s currently sporting a record of 174-86-28.
The record not only speaks for itself but so does the production. How many goalies have had career years in Carolina? Antti Raanta, James Reimer, Alex Nedeljkovic, etc. Carolina is second in the league in goals allowed in 2023 (2.39). A number they seem to be top five in every year under Rod.
Rod Brind’Amour is probably the best head coach in the league. He’s won A LOT of games without a true game breaking talent outside of center Sebastian Aho. Regardless of the curse I’ve handed down, Brind’Amour has earned his owner’s praise.
