Ubisoft has just announced the location and dates for the upcoming Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Invitational 2023. The Invitational, or Six Invitational, is the seventh installment in the esport tournament’s history.
In an official press release from Ubisoft, the Six Invitational is to take place in both Montreal and Laval, Canada. The competition has historically taken place in Canada, with only the 2021 and 2022 stepping out of the true North. The tournament is scheduled to go from Feb. 7-19, also typical dates for the event.
Other information was also announced alongside the dates and location, however. 20 teams, mostly from North America and Europe but also from Latin America and Asia, will be competing in the tournament. The teams will be battling to claim not just the title of “world champions” but a $3 million dollar prize pool as well.
The Six Invitational will also be used by Ubisoft to show off new updates to Rainbow Six Siege and promote the game’s esports future.
Fans will have an opportunity to check out all of this not just as observers but as participants as well. For the first time since 2020, the tournament will be open to the public from Feb. 17-19. Demo booths will be set up and fans will be able to ask questions to members of Siege’s dev team.
The Six Invitational has been set into three phases. Phase one being the group stage from Feb. 7-11. Phase two being the start of the playoffs from the 13th to 15th. Finally, the end of the playoffs and the championship round will be played from the 17th to 19th.
More news regarding the tournament is still to come. But the Six Invitational 2023 is something fans of both Rainbow Six Siege and esports in general won’t want to miss!
