SimBull NFL Price Comparison: Cowboys and Colts

SimBull is a place where you can invest in NFL teams like they are stocks, and the Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts have almost the same price. But who do you invest in? The Colts are only 20 cents more expensive, but which team is going to give investors better value.

SimColts ($35.74)

The Indianapolis Colts found their answer at quarterback after trading for Carson Wentz. He will be reunited with his old offensive coordinator from his days with the Eagles, Frank Reich. If Wentz can play close to the same level he was playing at his rookie year, the Colts can be legitimate Super Bowl contenders. Wide-out T.Y. Hilton agreed to stay in Indy despite being offered more money to go to the Baltimore Ravens, and that is a testament to what the organization is building.

The Colts went 11-5 in 2020 with quarterback Phillip Rivers, and replacing him with a younger and more mobile quarterback is only an advantage for their offense. In 2021, they play the AFC East, so they will get a chance to beat up on the New York Jets and New England Patriots giving them some extra out-of-conference wins. The Jacksonville Jaguars are heading in the right direction, but will not be playoff contenders in year one, so they only have one legitimate threat to win their division.

SimCowboys ($35.54)

The Dallas Cowboys gave Dak Prescott the bag this off-season, but does that make them a threat for anything serious this year? They had the worst division in the entire league in 2020 and they still couldn’t make the playoffs. I understand that Dak was hurt and didn’t play the second half of the season, but if they were serious contenders for anything they would have found a way to win an extra game or two.

In 2021 they have a tough schedule, they play the AFC West and NFC South. They need the defense to try and stop the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unless they draft someone this year, that part of their team is not up to par. Giving Dak such an absurd amount of money could hurt them in free agency down the road, to this team is not worth their current SimBull value.
