SimBull 2021 CFB Full Team Breakdown: Iowa

Welcome to Vendetta’s SimBull CFB full team breakdowns, where the writers from Vendetta Sports Media will be analyzing all the Power 5 college football programs for their share value on SimBull, and next up are the Iowa Hawkeyes. Check out the last breakdown here.

2020 Record: 6-2

2021 Projected Win Total (via MGM): 8.5

On The Field

The Iowa Hawkeyes got off to a bad start in 2020 starting 0-2 and losing by a combined five points. They lost to Northwestern at home on national television, but turned it around quickly and rattled off six straight wins. If it weren’t for two canceled games to shorten their season, a team that started out 0-2 in a SHORTENED season could have won eight games.

Kirk Ferentz has been the man in Iowa City for over two decades and has shown no signs of slowing down. His team is in the top five for the first time since 2015. They have already beaten two top 25 including in-state rival Iowa State on the road. They have a chance to go into a huge Big Ten matchup against Penn State with a perfect 5-0 record.

In The Market

The SimIowa Hawkeyes are the 9th most expensive team in the entire SimBull CFB market at $52.25 a share. They are in an elite group of share over fifty dollars, yet they are only third in the Big Ten in terms of share value. If you are holding these shares right now, the start of this season has been above expectations.

I don’t understand how they are less expensive than Iowa State despite beating them and being in a tougher conference. This share should only hold strong or go up unless they somehow take a loss before the Penn State game. If they win that game, this price could get to the high 50’s.
