Should The Celtics Bring Back Guerschon Yabusele?

France made it to the Gold Medal game at the Olympics (who will face team USA in the Finals). It’s been on the back of Mathias Lessort and Guerschon Yabusele while Rudy Gobert has totally sucked.

Before we go down the Gobert rabbit hole (which is obvious if you have a brain), the former Celtics draft pick has finally turned the corner. Yabusele has performed well in the Olympics and he’s averaged 9.3 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 49.0% from the field and 39.4% from three-point range while playing for Real Madrid.

Yabusele, 28, was taken by the Celtics with the 16th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Now that Yabusele has finally matured and turned himself into a real player, will Boston consider bringing him back? If the answer is yes, Yabusele is interested in coming back.

“You gotta tell (the Boston Celtics) to bring me back,” Yabusele said to Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe.

All I’m going to say is that the Celtics currently have a roster spot open. That spot could go back to Oshae Brissett who declined his player option but seems willing to return. Yabusele could have far more upside in that spot and could be the Grant Williams body type replacement that they never really addressed. This Olympic performance by Yabusele can’t be ignored and it only feels right if the Dancing Bear gets another crack to be part of a winning Celtics team.

Food for thought? Make it happen, Brad.
