Shannon Sharpe to leave FS1’s ‘Undisputed’
Shannon Sharpe’s time with Skip Bayless on Fox Sports 1’s “Undisputed” will be coming to a close, as Sharpe and FS1 have reached a buyout agreement, according to Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post.
Glasspiegel notes that Sharpe’s final appearance on Undisputed is expected to be after the NBA Finals, which begins Thursday between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets.

Sharpe’s Fox Sports podcast called “Club Shay Shay” will also be leaving the network.
The reason for Sharpe’s departure isn’t clear, though Glasspiegel cites possible friction between Bayless and Sharpe that sparked after Buffalo Bills safety collapsed on the field on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. Bayless tweeted this in the midst of the incident, which rightfully caught plenty of backlash:
No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.

Sharpe did not go on the show the following day and was publicly upset with Bayless when he returned, ordering him to take the tweet down — which he clearly did not do and said he would not do at the time. If that is the source of a breakup between the two parties, it’s well justifiable.
“Skip and Shannon: Undisputed” began in Sept. of 2016 with Fox Sports. The show was similar to ESPN’s First Take, a sports-debate show which Bayless and Stephen A. Smith co-hosted regularly for four years. The show instantly became one of the most popular morning gigs on FS1, along with “The Herd” and “First Things First.”
The future plans for the former four-time All-Pro is not known, but he is talented, popular and entertaining enough to find a job in the media circle, similar to how he was with CBS Sports and Fox Sports. Maybe he should seriously consider joining Vendetta Sports Media! That’s objectively his best option, if we’re being real here.
The three-time Super Bowl champion was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011 and was a part of the NFL’s 1990s All-Decade team.
This is a breaking news story. Stay tuned for updates.
