Chris Simms refuses to admit that Jalen Hurts is a quality quarterback. He also refuses to acknowledge he was dead wrong about Kellen Mond, but that’s a story for another day. Ditto for trying to suggest that Zach Wilson is better than Trevor Lawrence.
The guy knows absolutely nothing about football. Today, however, he crossed a line. He didn’t just cross a line, NBC Sports needs to seriously consider reprimanding Simms for his actions. They’re beyond ignorant. Just check this out.
“If I was a defensive coach, I’d be going, ‘Go headhunting on the quarterback here. Go ahead. Let ’em have it. Dive over. Go crazy. Try to kill the quarterback.’ That’s what I would do,” Simms said during Wednesday’s episode of PFT Live.
Wild take. Especially for a former NFL quarterback that suffered a ruptured spleen during an NFL game where he almost died. Considering what happened to Simms during his NFL career, you would think he would be more educated than this.
Jalen Hurts commented on it by taking the high road for those curious.
“I have no thoughts on it,” Hurts said. “We’re the only people that’s doing it as well as we are. You know, [I] heard a guy wanted me hurt for it, too.”
I just want to know what Simms has to do to get any sort of punishment from NBC. Again, the guy knows nothing about football. He literally said that Taysom Hill was better than Tua. It’s one thing to be dumb. It’s another thing to be ignorant. Simms crossed a line and if NBC had any dignity, they would fire him for being a clown.
