Sam Adams Honors Brad Marchand With Specialty Beer

The Bruins shockingly traded Brad Marchand to their division rival and Boston fans have every right to be pissed about the return. Don Sweeney might not have any class but luckily Sam Adams beer company does as they have decided to honor the Bruins legendary winger with a specialty beer to honor him.

“Brad Marchand will forever be a Boston legend, and legends deserve legendary beer,” Sam Adams captioned their Instagram post with a video featuring Marchand. “So, we made some.”

The beer — fittingly called “Marchand(y) — is “a fun spin on the classic shandy style ale, a perfect counterbalance to Brad’s spirited reputation on the ice. It’s fruit-forward with notes of blackberry, easy-drinking, yet with just enough edge to keep things interesting,” a press release from Sam Adams said.

“Being the captain of the Boston Bruins was the greatest honor of my life, and I am proud to team up with Samuel Adams on the Marchand(y) as a tribute to my time in this city,” Marchand said in the release. “I will always be a Bostonian at heart, and I hope that fans will enjoy this beer to celebrate the 16 unforgettable years I spent wearing this jersey.”

No free ads but Sam Adams is my favorite beer, in case you were wondering. If you know someone at Sam Adams tell them to get in contact with me because I’ll pour my heart and soul into those ads.

Sam Adams knows what they’re doing here. This kind of move increases the chance Marchand re-signs with the Bruins in the offseason. Whatever the famous brewery is in Florida needs to one-up this move immediately and put out a beer called “Couple of scumbags” featuring Marchand and Sam Bennett. If someone is smart in Florida, they will make that happen ASAP.
