That’s right the trade rumors are hot. The Russell Westbrook trade rumors have finally begun. Even though some of you think that Russell Westbrook is terrible, this is huge.

I think Westbrook is available. We can talk about semantics Of course, Daryl Morey would trade anyone if he thought it made his team better. Of course, he would trade Westbrook if he could get off of that long-term money, if he thought the assets, the sum of the parts was better than having somebody that’s considered a top-10 player.

Is Daryl Morey actively calling people, saying, “Hey, I’ve got to dump Westbrook?” Well, of course, he wouldn’t do it that way. But there are people who believe Westbrook is available and that Daryl knows, “I’ve got to figure something out here.”

I’m sure people will deny this after they hear it on the podcast. I don’t care.

Even though this is seen more like speculation, when there is smoke, there’s fire. Right now this is only the smoke, but this will be interesting to monitor as time rolls on. I cannot say I am fully surprised though, I knew this duo wouldn’t work in the beginning. You can’t just throw big names together and expect them to play well all the time. Given Daryl Morey’s track history, he would certainly trade almost everyone. He’s never been afraid to pull the trigger and move pieces around as he sees fits. He essentially put his job on the line with this trade, if it doesn’t work out, trying to trade Westbrook might be his best option.
