On-screen, Triple H and Shane McMahon were hardly ever on the same side, but now it seems like there was never any family heat.
For years, many assumed that Shane McMahon would someday take charge of WWE when Vince eventually retired. When his sister, Stephanie, began to take more prominent corporate roles, it seemed like she’d inherit WWE instead. This led many fans to speculate that somehow Triple H and Shane McMahon had heat since The Game married Stephanie and has moved up in WWE’s corporate wing.
A fan recently took to social media to ask Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp whether there was ever any truth to these rumors. Additionally, they tagged a post from a Facebook Group that speculates pro wrestling theories. In response, Sapp took to social media and debunked that there ever were issues between Triple H and Shane McMahon.
“It’s fake. Everyone should likely stop getting wrestling news from Facebook groups,” he tweeted on X. “Over half of the misinformation we [end] up correcting emanates from there. Very little oversight, care or moderation.”
Some of these theories likely emanated from the difference between how Vince McMahon celebrated the various people close to him’s birthdays. It’s been a longstanding online running joke since it seemed like Shane McMahon always got the shortest stick. These fans might have believed that this could have worsened the alleged tensions between Triple H and Shane.
Triple H will no longer be on WWE’s Board of Directors by the end of this month
WWE’s merger with Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc. has put any notions of either Shane McMahon, Stephanie, or Triple H taking the promotion over in the end. According to Fightful, a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing announcement revealed that The Game will be removed from the Board of Directors.
Despite this, Triple H will still remain in charge of the booking for both RAW and SmackDown. Notably, the changes the company has been going through have left many employees worried about their futures too.
