The Red Sox Already Won The Mookie Betts Trade
Chaim Bloom and the Red Sox organization was crucified by the fans and media for trading Mookie Betts. I was more neutral on it. I thought the Red Sox should have gotten more but I totally got why they made the move. Little did everyone know, Coronavirus was coming. As we sit here today??? It can’t be argued, the Red Sox won the Mookie Betts trade.
At this point, it doesn’t matter if there is or isn’t a baseball season when talking about the Mookie Betts trade. What is clear is that the Red Sox already won the trade. It can’t be argued. Anybody who was overly critical of the trade owes Bloom an apology. We still don’t know how many games or if there will be games played. Regardless, 2020 was a lost season for the Red Sox and it may be a lost season everyone. The fact that they added Connor Wong, Jeter Downs, and Alex Verdugo for nothing is incredible.
Seriously, I actually feel 10 percent bad for the Dodgers. This was their moment to go all in for Betts. Now he’s going to wear the Dodger blue for an hour and hit free agency. Mookie Betts has already said he’s signing with the highest bidder. It’s why Boston traded him. Now the Dodgers could possibly get outbid and lose 3 good players for nothing.
Growing up, the Red Sox were cursed and always found themselves as unlucky losers. Now? Boy, have things changed. This trade would have to go into the lucky category. Imagine if they re-sign Betts in the offseason (which more than likely will happen)? This story is one you can’t make up.
