Rams Waive RB Darrell Henderson
Can someone get Sean McVay and the rest of the Rams’ front office drug tested? First they hate Cam Akers. So much so that they benched him and sent him away from the team. Couldn’t find a trade partner. Then they cut Darrell Henderson and now Akers is back in the clear? Yes, you read that correctly.
Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the news:
Henderson, 25, has rushed for 283 yards on 70 total attempts. The former Memphis product also has three rushing touchdowns and a 4.0 yards per carry clip. Obviously, not world beating numbers. Henderson was also in the final year of his rookie contract so the Rams have no obligation to pay him after this season.
I guess this is the Cam Akers show now? Who saw this coming even two weeks ago? Akers is obviously the more talented player and hopefully this means the handcuffs are coming off full time. It’s been a rough year for Akers who is averaging 3.1 yards per carry across eight games this year. The Rams offensive line woes have been a constant not helping matters either.
Is there anything to make of this other than that? Is this a lost year in Los Angeles so the Rams are just going to run Akers into the ground and find out what happens? That seems like exactly what we’re getting. Hopefully, a chance to save what has been an epic failure of a fantasy season that I projected to be fruitful. An L take on my part. Hey, still time to turn it around with the fantasy playoffs around the corner!
