The Raiders couldn’t run the ball to save their lives last year. Maybe that will change with this new addition. Raheem Mostert has found a new home after being cut by the Dolphins earlier this offseason.
Mostert will ink a one year deal with the Raiders. It’s for a cheap $2.1 million.
“The Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to a one-year deal with veteran running back Raheem Mostert, a source confirmed to ESPN.”
Mostert, 32, will join a Raiders backfield that includes Zamir White and Sincere McCormick. Last year, Mostert was brutal averaging 3.3 yards per carry during an injury plagued season. However, the year prior he had 18 rushing touchdowns and rushed for 4.8 yards per carry in an over 1,000 yard season. If the Raiders can get that version of Mostert, this deal is a steal for the team.
Regardless of what version of Mostert they get this upcoming season, the Raiders still feel primed to draft a running back at some point during the 2025 NFL Draft. With Chip Kelly becoming the offensive coordinator, the connection to one of these Ohio State running backs (Quinshon Judkins or TreVeyon Henderson) feels to real to not end up happening.
By the way, the Dolphins went out and signed Alexander Mattison as the replacement for Mostert. Don’t expect me to write a post on that waste of a player Mattison who sucks and brings nothing to the table. Sorry, but also, not sorry. An incredibly stupid swap by the Dolphins.
