Rahjai Harris 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Next up to the to-do list is East Carolina running back Rahjai Harris. You might not even know who this is if you’re a casual college football consumer, but I promise this one will be worth your time.

Before I start, shout out to the ECU series I did with the video game. Harris goes down as a legend for the program! You can check that series out here! I know it’s just a video game but his play style in the game is pretty accurate for what he is so I encourage you to watch that.

Harris, listed at 5-foot-11, 214, is really a power back at heart but has serious upside in that style of runner. That’s while coming out of high school as a three star prospect in the state of South Carolina being 35 pounds lighter. Harris also spent every single year of his five year career at ECU and really finished off his final season strong. That includes receiving a substantial amount of playing time pretty much right away as a freshman.

Progression isn’t always linear. Harris averaged 4.9 yards per carry as a freshman and really looked impressive. Then spent the next three straight years well south of 4.0 yards per carry in each season. Then in 2024 he notched 206 carries for 1,166 yards, and 11 touchdowns. Doesn’t bring much in the receiving game but this very well could be a case of a guy who needed to grow into his body to take on the style he runs with.

If you’re looking for reasons to fall for Rahjai, watch the Military Bowl with a victory over NC State. It showcases all the high end stuff he brings to the table. Runs with power. Runs hard and fierce. Broken tackle machine. It’s like watching Marshawn Lynch if he was a small school guy.

I actually have a draftable grade on Rahjai Harris. Frankly, I don’t really understand why no one wants to talk about him. Outside of people just not paying enough attention to East Carolina, I don’t really get the lack of any semblance of hype here. He’s better than several who got a Combine invite. I’d imagine if I’m running a team, he’s on my roster during the undrafted signee period.
