Raheem Mostert Endorses Potential Dalvin Cook Signing For Dolphins

Dalvin Cook is still a free agent after the Vikings cut bait back in early June. Cook doesn’t appear in any rush to sign a deal. However, we do know Cook will find a home eventually prior to the start of the 2023 NFL Season. Miami are obvious contenders to sign the Miami native. With that said, how do the other running backs on the roster like Raheem Mostert feel about a potential Cook addition?

Mostert feels very on board with a potential deal to add Cook. Mostert referenced his time in San Francisco as a way to say you can never have enough good backs on your team.

“I mean, I was in San Francisco and we brought in Tevin Coleman, Jerick McKinnon, Matt Breida, just to name a few guys,” Mostert said, as documented by Pro Football Network. “They’re all starters, they’re all elite guys, and they’ve made unbelievable plays in their careers. Just to add someone like Dalvin would be good in the backfield.

“(At) the end of the day, it’s more so about what’s on the team right now,” Mostert continued. (But) it’ll always be a bonus to add a running back in. We all learn and piggyback off each other. I mean, you see what happened last year when we added Jeff Wilson to the mix. … It’s more of a running back group rather than going against each other, because we’re all on the same team. That’s the approach that you have to have to be a professional about it, when you’re bringing in somebody.”

Without Cook, your Dolphins running back room consists of Mostert, Jeff Wilson, Devon Achane, Salvon Ahmed, and Myles Gaskin. Mostert and Wilson have both struggled to stay on the field. Achane is just a rookie. Ahmed and Gaskin are both mediocre backs from the University of Washington. That right there sums up your running back room. The Phins need Cook.

As the Phins head into training camp, the running back spot is going to be under the microscope given how many names they have. It’s going to be even deeper if Miami adds Cook. For more training camp coverage on Miami, click the preview here!
