PlayStation Exclusive Spider-Man is coming to PC

In June 2017, Insomniac Games responded to a comment with the promise that Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) would never see an Xbox or PC release. They labeled the game a PS4 exclusive, forever and always. But luckily for PC fans of the superhero franchise, forever isn’t as long as you’d expect.

That’s right, the acclaimed PlayStation action-blockbuster hits Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are heading to PC.

Insomniac has confirmed that both Marvel titles are releasing this year on PCs. Why go back on an old Twitter statement? It was 2017, two years before Insomniac Games would be acquired by Sony for $229 million dollars. At that point, the decisions concerning PC ports left the developer’s hands. And honestly we’re happy to see it. The games have been PlayStation exclusives for many years now, but it’s time for PC players to join the action.

Besides, PS5 fans are already getting a new exclusive title with Wolverine, Insomniac’s next Marvel video game. So the PC coverage for their previous games is much appreciated.

Never Say Never, The Spider-Man PC Ports

The acclaimed developer Insomniac is working with Nixxes Studios, another recent addition to the “PlayStation family”, to revamp graphics and computer controls. Both Marvel games will have adjustable render setting, ray-traced reflections, and controller support.

Additionally, the PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man launches with the game’s DLC included: The City That Never Sleeps (2018). This expansion pack features three additional story chapters and involves iconic Marvel antagonists like Black Cat, Hammerhead, and the Silver Sable. And to sweeten the deal Insomniac adds a slew of new Spider-Man costumes to the mix. Web-sling around New York in the Scarlet Spider II outfit or relive the excitement of Into the Spider-Verse (2018) with the film’s Peter Parker costume.

Insomniac gives a definite release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for August 12, 2022, on PCs worldwide. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is slated for Fall 2022, with an exact date to-be-announced.
