Week 17 is upon us and with that comes another chance for us to potentially make some money. Now I know this is usually Chase’s territory, but seeing as he technically no longer works here, I figured I’d give it a shot. With that being said, here are five player props I would target this week.
Now, I know the Niners have an amazing defense and have a reputation for shutting down run games, but seeing as the Raiders are rolling with Jarrett Stidham at quarterback, they are going to have to heavily rely on Josh Jacobs to carry them via the ground game. He should see a lot of volume, which has usually yielded good results for the Alabama product.
DeVonta Smith has really come into form during the latter part of this season. He’s seen at least five receptions in four straight games, including eight receptions last week against Dallas. Against a Saints secondary that has been very suspect this season, I expect Smith to have a big Week 17. Smith’s expected production increases even more if Saints star cornerback Marshon Lattimore ends up missing the game — he was listed as a limited participant in practice with an abdomen injury.
Christian McCaffrey has been the exact weapon Kyle Shanahan was hoping to get when trading for him at the deadline. He has taken this offense to a whole new level by truly establishing the run game. Against a Raiders team that has not been good at stopping the run, I expect McCaffrey to have a big Week 17 and feast against this defense, especially if the Niners are able to jump out to a big lead.
I know this one may come as a bit of a surprise to some of you, but Kirk Cousins should not be underestimated. I’ve got a feeling that this is gonna be a shootout and Cousins is going to have one of his crazy afternoon performances. Plus, there’s momentum is on his side seeing as he’s hit over this amount each of the last four games.
The second-year wideout out of USC has had quite the breakout season. He’s currently hauled in 96 receptions for 1,050 yards and six touchdowns. He has also served as a sort of safety blanket for Goff, as evidenced by the nine or more targets he’s seen in the last four weeks. It’s clear that Goff wants to get the ball to Amon-Ra St. Brown and against a shaky Bears defense, I expect him to have a big Week 17.
