Paul Pogba Extortion Case Takes a Wild Turn With Brother’s New Claims

French national team and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been the center of police investigation looking into the accusations that Pogba was a target of extortionists. The case took a wild new twist Wednesday as his older brother Mathias posted a number of videos on his Twitter page targeting the star midfielder as reported by ESPN.

The few dozen videos from Mathias Pogba were led by a comment explaining his current situation.

“If you are reading this message, my bot will have done its automatic sending job,” Mathias Pogba wrote “It also means that I am no longer free, either because of my brother’s henchmen or because of the police.”

Earlier this month, the older Pogba was held in police custody following allegations that he and other childhood friends attempted to extort Paul Pogba for €13M (roughly $12.6M) through the use of blackmail. 

Mathias Pogba and four others remain in police custody after being charged last Saturday over the alleged extortion plans.

The current location of Mathias Pogba brings up the question of how long has this been planned and when were the videos taken since he mentioned how the Tweets were automatically posted.

Maybe this is just a case of a brother being jealous of his sibling’s fame and stardom, but I find that hard to believe considering the extent of Mathias Pogba’s latest comments.

Among the accusations made against Paul Pogba by his brother are claims that he deserted the family by surrounding himself with a new entourage and left the Pogba family to fend for themselves.

The most interesting claim from Mathias Pogba is that Paul Pogba hired a witch doctor to help the French National Team during their 2018 World Cup Championship run. It was mentioned that Paul Pogba also used the witch doctor to slow down Kylian Mbappe ahead of Manchester United’s 2019 UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain which saw the English side win 3-1 and advance to the quarterfinals. There has been no proof of this yet though.

Paul Pogba returned to Italian side Juventus this summer but has yet to play this season after suffering an injury in July that requires meniscus surgery which will likely see him miss out on the 2022 World Cup that gets underway less than two months from now. 

Mathias Pogba has bounced around Europe playing for 15 teams in his career most recently playing for the second division French team Belfort in the 2021-22 season.

It will be unlikely that this case goes away anytime soon, but it is safe to say that things have gotten a little bit crazy and the next Pogba family dinner could be quite the show.
