The New England Patriots have had enough of the Antonio Brown drama. Despite a 2-0 start to the season, New England has still dealt with distractions. Mainly stemming from Antonio Brown. AB has been involved in a sexual assault allegation that has been investigated by the NFL. The Patriots must have felt there was enough evidence that Brown was guilty or guilty enough. The Patriots have released Brown.
Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the news:
“The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”
If you were wondering how AB is doing, well, he seems okay? It’s hard to know what goes through his head. He claims on Twitter that he is grateful for the opportunity.
The Patriots must have felt there was enough evidence that Brown was guilty of the sexual assault. Until that gets resolved, there’s no way Brown is getting picked up by another team. Antonio Brown was due a $5 million roster bonus on Monday. New England had to make a decision on Brown sooner rather than later on whether he was going to be a part of their team this year. In the end, Brown will not be the reincarnated version of Randy Moss. He lasted just one game with the Patriots.
