Patrick Ewing Will Represent Knicks At 2019 NBA Draft Lottery

The New York Knicks are pulling out all the cheese. Lucky rabbit feet aren’t enough this time. Zion Williamson is on the line. New York is going with some magic voodoo shit here. The last time the Knicks won the lottery, they landed Patrick Ewing. Now that same man will represent them at the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery.

“Thirty-four years since New York Knicks great Dave DeBusschere pumped his fist on a podium after landing the No. 1 pick to select future Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, Ewing will now represent the franchise at the NBA draft lottery next month for a chance to draft Duke phenom Zion Williamson, league sources told ESPN.”

I would be lying if this didn’t make me nervous. I’m a big super superstitious guy. I can see it already. Ewing holding that card with the first pick making me puke. Ewing turned into a hall of famer. Zion will too. This just feels bad already. James Dolan doesn’t deserve this.

I can’t tell if the NBA wants this or not. Would the NBA love the Knicks to relevant? Hell, yes they would. Only issue is Adam Silver has to hate James Dolan. Maybe he does some back channeling and says “Hey, I’ll give you the first pick if you sell the team”. Not the craziest idea in the world.

This is make or break time for the Knicks. Let’s be honest, if they don’t land Zion, what’s the point? Why would Durant consider this team if Zion isn’t part of the plan. With the new lottery rules, New York could actually fall to the 5th pick. Since 2000, the Knicks have the worst winning percentage in the league. New York has a 14 percent chance at the first overall pick.
