Pat Bryant 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Overall, this is considered a down wide receiver group for the 2025 NFL Draft, and Pat Bryant is very much part of the reason why. We’re going over everything and anything you need to know about the Illinois product in this profile. As always, you’re feedback is welcome, although, I’m going to be a big time party pooper for this one.

NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (3)

Bryant, 22, was a three star wide receiver prospect out of the state of Florida coming out of high school. The Jacksonville native was also ranked as the 142nd overall receiver and 100th overall player in the state. Checking in at 6-foot-2, 204, he played all four years with the Illini.

In 2024, Bryant was Second-team All-Big Ten and led the team with 54 receptions for 984 receiving yards and ten touchdowns. The prior two years combined, he was at roughly 1,000 yards. He definitely made some explosive plays this past year with very average quarterback play.

The problem is, I’m not sure how translateable his skillset is. He’s a jump ball guy with a nice vertical but is on the slower than dirt side, posting a 4.61 at the Combine. You just don’t see any of those explosive knee bend movement skills in his game. The Combine performance was piss poor and he was never close to being a standout at the Senior Bowl.

I’m worried about this player for several reasons. Despite the big YPC total, he’s never been a big YAC guy. The hands have improved but they were a major issue in the prior two seasons, registering (2022: 1 per 6.6 catchable passes /2023: 1 per 11.8 catchable passes). I don’t see any grease lightning, hey, I’m open MFer type stuff either.

There really aren’t many positives here. He’s good at using his frame and high pointing. The leverage portion of his game has gotten better. Other than that, he looks like a classic lower-level Big 10 receiver who really doesn’t spit out anything special.

I had an undrafted grade on Pat Bryant. Wasn’t even on my list to consider taking in the top end of this receiver class. Way overdrafted. Hard pass.
