Matt Ryan, Luke Kuechly, and Ozzy Trapilo? Hey, Boston College puts out premium NFL Draft prospects every so often. Trapilo will look to potentially join that list. Let’s get right to the nitty gritty, so here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on the BC offensive tackle!
NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (2), (3)
Trapilo, 23, was a four star recruit coming out of high school during the 2020 cycle. The Boston, Massachusetts, native was ranked as the 80th overall player, seventh ranked tackle, and number one player in the state. Checking in at 6-foot-8, 316, with 33 inch arms, Trapilo spent all five years with the Eagles. There are also NFL bloodlines here as his father Steve was drafted by the Saints in the 80s.
The timeline sort of looks like this. The redshirt senior became the starter at left tackle in 2022. Then he made Second and then First-team All-ACC, respectively, over the last two years. In college, he specialized in pass pro. Really nice pass sets and didn’t really get beat in a albeit weaker ACC. Over the last two years at right tackle, he’s given up a combined two total sacks.
It’s been an up and down pre-draft process for the BC product. His Senior Bowl was really good. His Combine was trash. Maybe that right there summarizes him best. Able to hang in there against real competition while also not being the hottest pure athlete ever, all at the same time. 22 bench press numbers is at least a respectable number so he’s not weak.
Moving forward, Trapilo just needs to keep getting stronger. Incredibly tall, but needs to add power to that frame. If he does that, this will be a really nice tackle for the years to come.
I like Ozzy Trapilo. I’m just not sprinting to the podium to take him. Round 3-4 swing tackle who becomes more down the line.
