One Big Reason Why Fantasy Football Managers Should Start Selling Alvin Kamara

When people tell you who they are, believe them. Are you reading the subliminal messages here with the Saints? If not, you should because New Orleans is telling you exactly how they feel about Alvin Kamara by doing absolutely nothing about his contract situation. If you’re a fantasy football manager, you probably need to sell Kamara before it’s too late.

The Saints are the credit card team of the NFL. They have been in cap jail for YEARS. It feels like it’s been this way for a decade because they keep repeating the same formula. Restructure the deal.

Lower the base salary.

Move the money to future years guaranteeing the paragraph five roster bonus.

The only reason the Saints haven’t crashed yet is because the NFL is so damn popular and the cap keeps going up so New Orleans keeps getting away with it. The Saints have done this with pretty much every single player on the roster. You name him, they’ve done it… except with Kamara.

The Saints won’t follow that same concept with Kamara. They have a chance to free up a bunch of cap space by redoing his team. Except the team doesn’t seem particularly interested in guaranteeing future money to Kamara.

What does that tell you?

It should tell you everything. The Saints don’t want to pay a premium for an aging running back. Maybe they’ve already seen the writing on the wall like the Vikings did with Dalvin Cook (the two were in the same draft class and Cook seemingly fell off a cliff this year). Maybe they know something we don’t in terms of his health.

Either way, 2024 is going to be the last year Kamara is on the Saints unless they take care of this contract situation. Something the team hasn’t budged on. If you have to sell Kamara a year too soon instead of too late, I advise you to do just that. The team is telling you everything you need to know.

Maybe think about buying Kendre Miller too. Maybe he’s in line for a bigger role than you might think.
