Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold Transfers To Auburn

Jackson Arnold deserved better than being stuck with Brent Venables. Venables threw Arnold under the bus for the struggles Oklahoma went through this season, proving he never had any idea what to do with him from the jump. When Arnold announced he was hitting the transfer portal, no one could blame him. I would want to leave a situation where I was wrongly benched mid-season, only to be brought back shortly after.

Jackson Arnold did not spend much time in the portal, as 247Sports.com is reporting that Arnold has committed to Auburn. This is a massive get for Hugh Freeze, as the former five-star quarterback will be a Tiger in 2025. In a statement released on his decision, Arnold had this to say:

“For me, I think the opportunity here to go out and play at a high level and on a national stage,” Arnold said of his choice. “Jesse (Stone) was telling me that Auburn is one of six programs to play for two national championships in the past 20 years, you’re playing at a high level. You’re going to get developed and you’re going to play in front of a huge crowd that’s passionate about their team.”

The massive upset over Alabama this season surely shot up the stock of Jackson Arnold. I almost feel like that was the deciding factor. Arnold told Brent Venables “don’t you feel stupid now, look what I could’ve done and you benched me. Now I’m gone”. Auburn had a huge hole at the position as they were lacking in the quarterback position, and Arnold will certainly come in and be the starter in 2025.
