Odell Beckham has had an up-and-down tenure so far in the NFL. First-round draft pick by the New York Giants traded away to Cleveland where things were expected to be better for him. Just the opposite. Beckham was unhappy there and requested a trade from the Browns right before the trade deadline this season. He would land with the Los Angeles Rams and life couldn’t be better. He is about to play in his first Super Bowl with his new team, and this has him reflecting back to his time in Cleveland, which according to him he wishes things ended better.

“One of the biggest regrets that I have about the way things ended is I just didn’t get — it’s like having a breakup but there really was no closure and it’s kind of just like you go, that’s just it,” Beckham said. “One thing I’ve always been big on in my life is closure. Because I feel like if doors are not closed, they’re always still open. Just having to leave, leave these guys that are your brothers, you have lifetime friendships with, and it just happened so abruptly. A lot of things were out of my control. By the time I woke up, the video was already posted, it just was unfortunate. Sometimes things go that way in life and you just have to roll with the punches. I just think about, here I am now and just making the most of the opportunity that I have.”
At the end of the day, the past is in the past. Odell Beckham got what he wanted, which was to get out of Cleveland and land with a winner. In March, however, Beckham is expected to hit free agency. While he as publically stated he would be more than happy to stay with the Rams long term, even willing to take a pay cut to stay, where Beckham ends up is anyone guess. But for now, he is happy.
