Nick Saban is a beauty. Saban is pulling out all the stops to praise Gus Malzahn and the Auburn Tigers. Before the two square off in the Iron Bowl, Saban applauded how good the Auburn football team was. Was he just blowing smoke or did he actually mean it? You be the judge.
“This is the best team we’ve played probably so far this year,” Saban said of Auburn. “And this will be the most challenging place we’ve played so far.
“A real challenge for our players and our team.”
Odd choice of words considering they lost to LSU 46-41 earlier this month. It was the first time they lost to LSU since 2011. That was with Tua Tagovailoa under center. Now Alabama will roll with Mac Jones for the rest of the year. I get that Auburn is no easy task but this is some serious shade towards LSU.
Auburn has lost to Florida, LSU, and Georgia this year. All of which are quality losses. The LSU loss was a 3 point loss on the road. No shame in that one. Auburn’s best wins came against Oregon and Texas A&M. I think Auburn is a quality team. They have a quarterback issue but the rest of the roster has talent. Bo Nix is god awful but they still present a challenge.
You just know Nick Saban is licking his chops to get another crack at LSU. He’s ashamed that he lost to Coach O. He wants to burry him. Especially after Coach O went on the “Roll Tide, Fuck You” chant in the Alabama locker room. Coach O danced on their graves. You already know Saban can’t sleep at night waiting for another crack at him. Even if he does, I think LSU has much better players. Alabama doesn’t have the horses they used to.
