Following up on when the NFC North went Boxing Day shopping, it’s time to take a look at all the NFC East teams and identify what their New Year resolutions should be.
Keeping Dak Prescott healthy should be priority number one for the Dallas Cowboys, if they lose him it’s over in any given year. This is because of two reasons. One: He has a very legitimate case for being a top ten quarterback in the league, at minimum he’s top twelve. Two: The amount of money they paid him means that if he goes down that chunk of the salary cap is gone to waste and cannot be used to have a great backup or an all-star team around him. The Cowboys made a huge investment in Dak Prescott, and they need to keep him healthy to see the returns.
This is one of those “Visco Girl inspirational quotes after a breakup” type of resolution, but it fits this team. The Eagles tried to be “put the game in Hurts’ hands and air it out” early in the season and they struggled. Then, they decided it’d be a good idea to use Hurts’ ability as a rusher behind a great offensive line with a solid running back. After they did that, they’re in a great position to make the playoffs. Who knew? Running behind a dominant offensive line is a great idea for a team with a meh quarterback (in terms of just passing). The Eagles need to stick to this identity to be any type of threat in the playoffs.
This seems like ever since the Alex Smith injury, the Washington Football Team has been in desperate need of a legitimate quarterback. Taylor Heinicke played great in the playoffs against Tampa Bay last season, but has been fairly mediocre since and has proven to be only a bridge quarterback as of now. A legitimate quarterback who’s truly capable of calling the shots is what this team needs to find.
The Giants just need to give their fans some hope, because they seem absolutely clueless right now. Paying Kenny Golladay all that money and seemingly nothing has changed at all. Just give them a reason to believe again, give them a sign that the front office is competent. That’s what they need to focus on first.
The NFC East has been one of the weaker divisions in football for the past couple of years. However, these teams have a good bit of potential if they can fix some issues.
