New Music Friday (4/21/23) Includes NBA YoungBoy, Post Malone and More

NBA YoungBoy – Don’t Try This At Home

Good Lord, the amount of content from this album is ridiculous. This New Music Friday, NBA YoungBoy dropped his newest album that contains 33 songs … yes, 33 songs. Clocking in at an hour and 25 minutes this album has songs with Mariah The Scientist, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone and The Kid LAROI. There’s plenty for all of his fans, however, I do find it somewhat repetitive, which is inevitable with the sheer amount of content in one place.

Post Malone – The Diamond Collection

Post Malone has released a collection of all of his diamond songs this New Music Friday which includes:

  • White Iverson
  • Congratulations (feat. Quavo)
  • I Fall Apart
  • rockstar (feat. 21 Savage)
  • Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)
  • Better Now
  • Sunflower – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
  • Circles

Not only that, but this collection also includes his latest single “Chemical,” which he released last Friday.

Moneybagg Yo – Motion God

Moneybagg Yo released a pretty generic song this New Music Friday, however, he caught me by surprise by implementing some vocals on the chorus of this song. Still a decent release and a good listen.

Vic Mensa – Swish ft. G-Eazy & Chance The Rapper

“Swish” opens with a very catchy chorus and continues to maintain that melody throughout the rest of the song. This chorus transitions between the verses of Chance, G-Eazy and Vic Mensa.

Armani White – SILVER TOOTH ft. A$AP Ferg

I was not expecting this duo to perform as well as they did. Both brought energy and flow that resulted in a good listen this New Music Friday. Recommend for this Friday.

The Alchemist & Domo Genesis – No Idols

The Alchemist has been busy this year already with albums such as No Idols and the previous album he worked on The Great Escape which was also released in 2023.

With the newest collaboration between The Alchemist and Domo Genesis they bring an album that embodies the slower, funk style of rap that Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creator are known for. Speaking of, those two are just some of the features that are on the album.

Mike Dimes – Off The Porch ft. Maxo Kream & BigXthaPlug

The group of Texans come together to produce one of my favorite collaborations of the week by far. Mike Dimes acts as a nice middle ground or sort of mesh between the two, Maxo Kream and BigXthaPlug. However, that shouldn’t take away from the fact that they all delivered.

“Off The Porch” is one of the new releases this New Music Friday that you should definitely check out sooner rather than later.
