The man with 10,000 tattoos decided that he just needed one more. JR Smith is up to his usual self when he decided to get a Supreme brand tattoo on his leg. The NBA has threatened to discipline JR if he does not cover up the tattoo with a sleeve during games. Nike is the official brand of the NBA so it’s not surprising that the NBA would crack down like this.
The funniest part of this was JR’s reaction. Did he really not see this coming?

“So I was informed today that I would be fined every game if I don’t cover up my ‘SUPREME TATTOO’ on my legs during games!!” Smith wrote, punctuating the sentence with three crying laughing emojis. “These people in the league office are something else!”
The most hilarious part of this whole thing is Smith isn’t even getting compensated for wearing the Supreme brand! Supreme did not reach out to him about getting the tattoo nor are they paying him to wear their gear! The New York-based company is just who he is according to Smith? Someone help me figure out what I’m missing!
“People were like, ‘Are they paying you for it?’ and I was like, ‘No,’ so they were like, ‘What are you doing it for?'” Smith told Complex in August. “And I was like, ‘That’s who I am. That’s why I am who I am.’ It worked out.”
The good news is JR Smith will forever haunt the brain of LeBron James so at least he contributed something to the NBA this decade. The Cavs will stink again so this story probably won’t last very long on NBA radars.
