Moliki Matavao 2025 NFL Draft Profile

I’m not even going to bury the lede here. We’re not going to take too long to get to the point on this one. Scouting is about eliminating, and Moliki Matavao is just someone we’re crossing off the list here. I’m more than happy to explain why, so stick around for the rest of the 2025 NFL Draft profile on the UCLA tight end… or feel free to exit now. I got your click either way, so thanks for supporting the best NFL Draft site on the internet!

NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (1), (3)

Matavao, 22, was a four star prospect out of high school and was actually the number one rated player in the state of Nevada during the 2021 cycle. The Henderson native spent two years at Oregon and then finished with two years with the Bruins. It’s another player who used the transfer portal to his advantage because the guy never really saw the field with the Ducks. In reality, he probably would have been their third or fourth TE on the roster if he stayed at Oregon this past year. You can argue it but there’s not a chicken cocks chance he’s better than Terrance Ferguson or Kenyon Sadiq sooo, yeah.

As a junior, Matavao didn’t really do anything either, compiling 14 total receptions. Then this past year, there was actually a mini-breakout. Matavao posted 41 receptions for 506 yards and two scores. It was apparently good enough to get him an invite to the Senior Bowl. While I admittedly didn’t watch a ton on UCLA this past year (mostly because Eric Bieniemy is an idiot and the few UCLA games I did watch, Matavao was never on the radar), I think we saw plenty during the predraft process.

I thought he was AWFUL at the Senior Bowl. One of the worst players I saw at the event. All of the information you need is in the stock notes at the top. All of that was confirmed at the Combine. A 4.81 time at the 40 just isn’t close to good enough. The hands were terrible. He just looks like a big, untalented sloth who is a total waste of time.

Hard pass. No, thank you. Totally undraftable and not worth a preseason camp invite either.
