Hand-pulled noodles in Toronto are quickly on the rise! I ventured out to Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodle to check out their authentic hand-pulled noodles. I would pass by this place on my commute near Dundas Square, every day for a year. Each time I walked past, it teased me to come in and try the excitement that a freshly hand-pulled noodle has!
If you’re a noodle fan, you’re absolutely going to love these. Mogouyan Hand Pulled Noodle has a large menu with dishes such as dumplings and wings for the appetizers, refreshing teas for the drinks and mochi for the desserts. However, the star of the show is the noodle bowls.
You start with choosing the type of noodle shape you want. Each one is hand-pulled and equally as delicious! The classic is a semi-thick and chewy noodle that holds a lot of the broth. After choosing your noodle, you choose a bowl of soup that best fits your cravings! I ordered the classic beef noodles and my friends ordered the braised beef.
The meal came out quick and hot, and they offered chili oil on the side to fit your spicy desires! The first thing I tasted from the dish was the freshness of the noodles. They were chewy, fresh and held onto the broth beautifully.
They’re everything I want in a noodle. The broth was tangy and spicy, and had a very unique flavor. It was red hot from the peppers, and I had to of course add even more spice with the chili oil! The broth, scallions, chili oil and fresh noodles, all complemented each other and formed a beautiful bowl of soup that I would definitely order again!
