Michael Lombardi Perfectly Describes Why I Have No Respect For Other NFL Draft “Experts”

Michael Lombardi is on the list of respect for a reason. What he said during the last episode of the GM Shuffle, I just couldn’t have said it better myself. I have zero respect for NFL Draft ‘experts’ and Lombardi perfectly described why.

He hit the nail on the head and is 100% right.

I don’t look at mock drafts. I refuse to read the because I just do not care what other people say. I give you my thoughts and I’m more accurate than everybody else. I’ll stack my resume against anybody else.

Lombardi says a lot of important things you should here. Why do you think mock drafts change so drastically from January to February? Nothing changes. It’s just that NFL scouting departments finally catch up on college tape and then leak things. Never forget this. These NFL Draft experts don’t have their own opinion because they’re not educated enough to. They hear what others have to say and align into group think. Everybody is scared of being the outcast and wants their rankings to look like everyone else.

If we’re all thinking alike nobody is really thinking. I can give you 100 examples but none more infamous than when I tried to tell you that Mitch Trubisky was a 6th rounder. Nobody wanted to hear it though.

If you’re into mock drafts, I’m not going to tell you to stop reading them. I’m simply going to tell you to process the information differently. What time of the year is it and do you know where that information is coming from? 99% of the time it’s not coming from the person typing the mock or rankings. It’s from rumors they hear.

You’re in good hands here. If you don’t recognize that by now, I’m not sure what to tell you.
