When people tell you who they are, believe them. Michael Kay of YES Network had a rant that everyone has to see. The only thing it did was reveal his true character. Kay can only be described as insecure and jealous.
“Their ad, which ran during the last break, ‘Enjoy the Subway Series with the best booth in baseball.’ I mean, do you expect me to just take that lying down?” Kay asked co-hosts Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg. “I think our booth is the best booth in baseball. You know who the host of the show is…I’ll take O’Neill, Cone and me over Gar, Ron and Keith. I would. I mean, they’re great, but so is our booth. The way you want people to watch is to say, ‘Join the best booth in baseball?’ I’m sorry, I think we’re the best booth in baseball.”
My favorite part about this is none of the co-hosts even defended Kay on it. The only reason why Kay is even bothered by this is because deep down he knows the truth. The Mets broadcast team is significantly better than the one the Yankees have. The truth hurts and it’s really easy to see the truth with this rant.
The karma gods were watching too. The Mets totally blasted the Yankees during the Subway series outscoring them 19-8 in the two-game sweep. Is that a coincidence or did Kay put the stink over the team? Maybe…
The SNY crew handled this with total class too. This is the way winners handle that. It only clarified how much better they truly are compared to the YES team.
