Miami Dolphins Acquire Tyreek Hill From Kansas City Chiefs

The Miami Dolphins are acquiring absolute weapon/wide receiver Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs, per Ian Rapoport. The return is multiple first-round picks and Hill gets a nice new contract extension.

As for Hill’s brand new contract extension, the Miami Dolphins are giving him a four-year deal worth $120 million, with $72.2 million guaranteed according to Adam Schefter. But there are conflicting reports about this! NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says it is a three-year extension worth $75 million. Who’s right here? I don’t know. It appears that Schefter is giving the total contract and Pelissaro is giving the new money. No matter what, Hill is getting a nice new payday.

Hills’ payday gets even better! $52.535 million is guaranteed at signing, while the entire gets guaranteed at the start of the 2023 league year, per Adam Schefter.

As for the trade compensation, the Chiefs are getting a 2022 first-round pick (29), a second-round pick (50), and a fourth-round pick. They also get a fourth and sixth round pick in 2023, according to Adam Schefter.

Tyreek Hill is an absolute game breaker. He is the perfect combination of insane speed and ridiculous shiftiness. Most players are not excellent in either, some are great at one or the other, but Hill is elite at both and it shows. The Miami Dolphins are getting him for less than two first round picks, and have created the fastest offense in the NFL in the process. Waddle and Hill will be ridiculous RAC machines, and Mostert might be the slowest of the three, which is absolutely bonkers to think about.

These moves are not about whether they really believe in Tua or not. They are doing what a smart organization would do, set your self up for success by supporting your quarterback.
