Matthew Berry is the lead fantasy expert over at ESPN. I could take him or leave him. Sometimes I like him. Sometimes Berry drives me insane. Today, Berry earned his paycheck. Matthew Berry lost his mind over the Arizona Cardinals and the way they handled the Chase Edmunds – David Johnson situation. To recap, Johnson practiced during the week and looked like he was going to play. He was quickly pulled and Chase Edmunds had himself a day. Then the Cardinals sent out this Tweet after the game.
This one tweet sent Matthew Berry into the depths of hell with a thousand burning bridges in his eyes.
Tell you what, I’m happy for Berry. I’m glad he grew a spine. Sometimes he acts like a total weirdo and hosts a fantasy show with puppets. It’s a bit childish. This is the Berry we want to see. Matthew Berry lost his mind. His best point was the irrelevancy of the Cardinals. Nobody gives a fuck about the Cardinals. He’s probably right. The only people that care about the Cardinals are the people that do fantasy football.
Here’s what I don’t agree with. If you drafted David Johnson, that’s your own fault. I told you not to. The Arizona Cardinals are a bad football team. Don’t draft running backs on bad teams. You are sticking your foot in your mouth. It’s the number one golden rule in fantasy. Add in the fact that Johnson has some tread on the tires and has a pretty lengthy injury history. Johnson was a clear player to avoid in fantasy. I don’t feel bad for you if you drafted David Johnson.
How about the pride of Fordham, Chase Edmunds? What a show! 126 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns? Jesus. I just wish I saw it coming. Oh, well. At least we got to see an epic rant from Matthew Berry. We need to see more of them because Field Yates is as interesting as a bar of soap. Paint dry boring.
