Mark Cuban Weighs In On The TikTok Ban

The TikTok in the United States is in full go. Content creators aren’t exactly thrilled about it, obviously. We here at Vendetta Sports Media luckily didn’t invest a ton of time into that platform but this ban sure affects a ton of people who made money on that platform. Mark Cuban stepped forward and gave his thoughts on how it’s going to affect the sports landscape.

VIA In an email to Jacob Feldman of Sportico:

“What will the impact be on sports as a whole? Nothing,” wrote Cuban. “Content creators who make a living… They would have a right to be angry.”

He’s probably right about that. It won’t make a difference on the sports landscape. Especially in the NBA given that the ratings are in the toilet! Regardless of if TikTok is banned or not, less people are watching the NBA and it has everything to do with Adam Silver having a clam between his legs. Cuban won’t say that but I’m guessing it’s a reason why he got out of the basketball business.

The only real people affected by the TikTok ban are the ones who had a serious following on there. A select few. That is it.

Mark Cuban Talks About the Challenge of Reaching Young Viewers

Cuban isn’t the lead decision-maker with the Mavericks anymore after selling a majority stake in the franchise. When you consider that, I’m not sure it really matters what he thinks. If he wanted to keep being a power player in sports, he wouldn’t have sold the team. He’s basically a glorified cheerleader right now. Not that I’m making fun of him because he’s way richer than I am but that’s the truth.
