Logan Paul set to box Dillon Danis in October

Social media influencer Logan Paul is set to box MMA fighter Dillon Danis in Manchester, England, and is expected to serve as a co-main event to KSI vs. Tommy Fury on Oct. 14, 2023, it was announced Tuesday.

Paul’s bout against Danis will be his fourth entry into the ring. The YouTuber and podcaster have one professional bout, one exhibition bout and one amateur bout. None of those bouts resulted in a win, however.

In two fights against KSI, Paul fought to a draw in the amateur bout and lost the professional bout. In his most recent bout, he went to a decision against Floyd Mayweather, one of the best boxers of all time. Since the bout was an exhibition, it was not scored by judges and was ruled a draw.

This will be Paul’s first boxing match since 2021. In his time off, he has stayed active in the boxing scene as he has often been involved in massive fights in the crossover scene. Additionally, he has dove head-first into professional wrestling and has made a name for himself in the WWE.

Danis has two professional MMA bouts in Bellator MMA. In both fights, he was able to get a first-round submission victory. It will be interesting to see how Danis performs in a boxing match as the overwhelming majority of his martial arts experience comes from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Despite being an MMA fighter, Danis has largely gained notoriety through social media interactions. The grappler gained notoriety as a training partner of Conor McGregor and parlayed that into social media attention through his constant trash talk. Danis’ most notable moment in mixed martial arts came when Khabib Nurmagomedov’s jumped into the crowd to attack him after submitting McGregor at UFC 229.

Danis’ online persona provides Paul with an outstanding opportunity. To put it lightly, the MMA world and social media community do not like Danis. If Paul can defeat him, he will likely get positive feedback from a wide variety of people. Furthermore, Danis’ inexperience in striking makes this a winnable bout.

Who will Jake Paul fight next?

It has not been announced if this bout will be a professional or exhibition bout. Although, the main event between KSI and Fury is an exhibition bout, which means the co-main event will likely be the same. That has not been made official, however.
